Feeling Batty

This was the scene in the studio yesterday and today, as Elf Erin carded batts:

Craziness! All those tubs (and many more on the photo's periphery) are holding the SG inventory as it hangs out between shows. You can imagine what a circus it is trying to find anything whenever there's an order. Poor Rachel, the lover of all things orderly, is in a state of distraction. Amidst all this, I've convinced the lovely Sheri of The Loopy Ewe that batts would make a good addition to her shop. So I dyed 30 different semi-solid colours of merino and merino/silk roving to give me a palette from which to invent (repeatable!) batts, and here Erin is hard at work bringing them into existence. Fortunately, she doesn't seem to mind the chaos.

Here's Rachel yesterday, shaking her head over all the loony goings on.

I was pretty fuzz-headed and worn out from a cold while working yesterday, but apparently my subconscious was thinking about Hallow E'en, my very favourite holiday.

Speaking of things batty, designer Retta Eller (aka Batty Girl), of the beautiful Ostrich Plume Wrap, made a gorgeous set she calls 'Global Warmers' for me way back in the spring. I wanted to wait for cooler weather to release the pattern, and now the time is upon us! Going up on my Etsy pattern shop tomorrow, I bring you this fabulous design, in Taiping DK 100% Mongolian cashmere.

Oh, and some more yarn.

Gee you have been busy. And don't forget that you have Stitches coming up. You need batts for there too. But even I would be hard pressed by this filing system.

Halloween is my favorite holiday, too. I'm home. When's the next spin- in?

What's the orangey yarn in the Halloween picture? I kind of love it, and may need some if it's left post-Stitches.
