Eastern Shore Yarn Crab Crawl

The Crab Crawl is on! There's been talk for a while now amongst Eastern Shore yarn lovers about going on a yarn shop crawl to check out all the cool shops we have over here on our peninsula, and we the shop owners have now teamed up to make it even more exciting by holding the first ever Eastern Shore Yarn Crab Crawl!

Here's how it works: For the entire month of September, tote bags with a yarn shop map of the Eastern Shop will be available in all eight participating shops. Buy a tote bag (only $15) and you'll get 20% yarn at all the shops all month. Each week, for every $25 you spend at any shop you'll be entered in a drawing for a $25 gift certificate at that shop. Also, when you get your bag, you'll get a postcard. Have that postcard stamped at each shop you visit - those who make it to all 8 shops will be entered in a grand prize drawing for a booty bag including contributions from all the shops.

Participating shops:

Vulcan's Rest - Chesapeake City, MD
The Yarn Shop - Chestertown, MD
Yarns & Co. - Easton, MD
Frivolous Fibers - St. Michael's, MD
Fibre Cafe - Cambridge, MD
The Fine Needle - Snow Hill, MD
Stitches With Style - Newark, DE
and of course little old me, The Sanguine Gryphon - Easton, MD

Leading up to this grand month of crabby yarn shopping, I'll be featuring each of these stores in a blog entry over the next couple weeks. Ravelers, you can visit the Eastern Shore Group to see if anybody wants to carpool for the Crawl.

I don't advertise the shop so much, and generally have it open only by appointment, but in September I'll have regular hours:

10-4 Mon, Tue, Wed, Fri
9-1 Sat

I'll even put up a couple signs so people can actually find it!

For those of us who are semi-local (Annapolis) but don't know the area....any chance there'd be one place with addresses and hours of the shops? Especially the ones without websites?

Good point! I'll provide phone numbers and addresses for each shop when I write its feature, and then link to all of those on the side bar.
